Thrifty Purchases

Hey there. I've been scoring some good bargains lately at my local Goodwill and wanted to share.

First up is this cute white frame with navy carved pattern. A whopping $2.

This shadow box was $4.55.

This planter was $2.

I LOVE this metal bowl! It looks great with my orchid. Best part, it was 99 cents!!

I found this vibrant blue lamp shade for $2 and the silver plate/platter was $3.

The metal fruit holder was $4 and the blue jar and green vase were free thanks to my Mom!

All this for less than $20!

Decorative Moss Balls

Recently, I bought a glass apothecary jar and wanted to find something unique to put in it. I happened to have some leftover dried moss from another project and some foam balls. So, I decided to make some moss balls! Here's some pictures to show how I made them (very simply with hot glue) and how they look displayed:

Simple, cheap, and decorative! I love these three words.

Halloween is Upon us!

Halloween is right around the corner. So, I whipped up some no cost decorations. Autumn over at Design*Dump made a really cute Halloween-themed fabric pennant garland. I loved it and wanted to make one too. But, I don't own a sewing machine (Maybe Santa will bring me one!) and I didn't have any fabric. So, I made do with what I had. I used a cheap Halloween garland that I bought last year and some leftover scrap-booking paper. Using a pennant template I found here, I traced the pattern and cut out my pennants. Then I simply stapled the paper pennants onto the garland. And here you have it!

Maybe next year, I'll have a fabric pennant garland to show you!
