It's amazing what writing a quick post can do to get you motivated to finish projects! I was sure I wouldn't get around to finishing the back splash until Spring, but I did it! ALL. BY. MYSELF!!! With the exception of my Dad helping with a minor electrical problem. (When I cut the power off to the outlets, the one that the coffee maker uses, went dead. My dad did the investigative work on that one and helped me replace the outlet all together. Thanks Dad!)
I can't thank The Lettered Cottage, The Empty Nest, and The Handmade Home enough for all the inspiration and how to's!
I made all of my cuts with a jigsaw borrowed from my Dad. (Thanks again Dad!) Just like Ashley at The Handmade Home, I hot glued the bead board onto my existing tile back splash and the corbels too!
Here's a look at the before:
And After!!:
Now that's a wonderful idea! I didn't know we could glue material such as this onto our existing back splash! Oh oh now! It's time for me to get busy!
ReplyDeleteLOL! That's how I feel every time I discover something amazing on a blog that I could actually do! I'm addicted. 8*P

ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa! Beccaod: I bought the corbels for about $8-9 at Home Depot. :0)
ReplyDeleteLovely! You did a great job! My kitchen in my newly purchased home has a similar layout so this is great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty! LOVE the bead board, love the contrasting color on the island, and I can't believe how much fresher your counter tops look just painting up the cupboards! Great job! (Found you via, Before and After, btw!:))
ReplyDeleteJust came over from Before and After... I love what you've done with your kitchen! It looks great. The before looks just like my aunt's (blah) kitchen. The after is much more modern and youthful. It's great!
